Algae Discoloration (aka “Roof Streaks”)

Dark streaks or stains on roofs caused by a blue-green algae called *Gloeocapsa magma*. Common in humid climates like Texas and is often mistaken for mold or dirt. While mostly cosmetic, it can hold moisture against the shingle.
